Sri Lanka Trip 2000 March 2000 - just earned 1000$, and had no clue, what to do within the next weeks. So i decided to leave everything behind me, and take a flight to a place where i could spend a couple of weeks relaxing. unfortunately i've choosen sri lanka ;-) a wonderful and exciting trip, but how can tourists relax in a country, that comes up with awesome pieces of nature, and horrible poornes as well? centralized capitalism in the colombo, and the slums in the suburbs? huge tourist areas in the south-western part, and civil war in the northeast? But there was one place, where the beauty and the the poorness met - a small monastery, which didn't even had an intact roof, but the balance und kindness of the monks showed me the real beauty of sri lanka
